'GI Brides'
‘City Stories’, is a series of six installations created for the permanent collection at Sea City Museum, Southampton. Each work, housed in a glazed museum cabinet, combines sculpture, found objects, archive material, and photographs, to explore some of Southampton’s past and present communities.
GI Brides is a response to the departure of the war brides, who in 1946 sailed from Southampton docks to join their servicemen husbands in America.
